It is fun to make new friends. Emily is the only other girl near Sarah's age, and that's her mom Julie. They know some other South African friend's of ours too. We went to an apple farm to pick apples and raspberries this last week. We went with two other friends and their children. You could eat as much as you liked too, so I told Sarah to eat up. Yummy Gala apples. It was fun to pick them too, and the farm was only about 20 minutes from Madison.
Carrie picking apples. I did it too, but wasn't going to take a pic of myself. Plus the mosquitoes were so thick and annoying that the other lady stayed in the car with some of the children who didn't like the bugs at all. So we just picked as fast as we could and got out of there. It was also fun picking and eating raspberries. The mozzies were so bad there, we almost fumigated ourselves with bugspray.
I know it looks calm and peaceful, but beware of the mozzie! See all the beautiful apples on those trees?
After picking fruit. Well the girls pretty much stayed in the wagon, putting apples in the bags for us, and then tried to pick raspberries while swatting away bugs. They did a great job in the heat, but were pretty tired afterwards.
Doesn't that expression tell all? Sarah came home with quite a lot of mozzie bites. Man I love that hat! All in all a fun outing and good to make new friends. Thanks to the many who fetch us so that we can have fun with them:-)
