We told each of the children to make their own crowns to bring with them, and to dress as a princess, prince or knight. It was so wonderful how each crown was remarkably different! It was fun.

We got the children started with colouring in, until everyone had arrived. We had a big snowstorm that morning, and were really lucky that only one friend didn't make it. Their car was swerving all over the road, along with the cars and trucks around them, so much so, that they said a whole line of cars couldn't move out of the way for an ambulance. So some of our friends were a little late.

Ryan started reading a princess story. This is a book Sarah got from Mandy Myers in Salt Lake, and there is space for a photo of Sarah, so she is the princess on every page. Please note all the crowns. Ryan is wearing the one that Sarah made. She wanted to wear her Sleeping Beauty one instead.


We had the children play 'Pass the Parcel'. For those of you who don't know what this is. It is a game where you wrap a little gift or treat in newspaper, in a number of different layers. The children sit in a circle and when the music starts they pass the parcel around. Whoever is holding the parcel (package) when the music stops, gets to unwrap a layer. Whoever opens the last layer of wrapping, gets to keep the treat. We had 6 children, and I wrapped each treat about 5 times. I would recommend having fewer layers. Each child really wanted to get their own treat... and we had enough for everyone. They seemed to enjoy playing this.
