Trick or treating at our Bishop's house. You can hear Ryan talking about her having something that she can now eat. We had agreed that she would only have 1 treat that night, and more the next day, due to her reflux, and there were little bags of Teddy Grahams! Yay!
Sarah had such a great time trick or treating, that at one point during the evening she told her Dad, "I love this day"! When we started knocking on doors it was still light out and not too cold (though pretty cold for a South African), and by the time we came home it 8pm, very dark and bitterly cold outside. I had a cold at the time, and maybe that is why I still have it. We met some friends with their two little boys, and we were glad we did, because it made the evening so much more fun.
We went to the nearby neighbourhood of Shorewood, and Sarah walked all the way there, she probably would have walked a lot further, had she not fallen while walking in the street. It took a little while for her to regroup, but she did, and was having so much fun, that she didn't want to go home. She and Talmage kept saying: more trick or treating. All the people who opened their doors, and there were a lot of them, were friendly and generous. It was a good experience trick or treating in a real neighbourhood instead of just apartments.
We got to go past the fire station, where the kids got toothbrushes and toothpaste, which they were delighted with.
We went to our Bishop's house, and he was out of town, but his lovely wife, Karen, was there, dispensing treats. Please note Sarah hanging back while the boys chose treats. They were quick to say trick or treat, and Sarah would patiently wait her turn. Sometimes when there were lots of other trick or treaters it would take a while for her to get her treat. She certainly isn't pushy.
What a fun night. People said how unusually warm it was, but by the time we got home, we most definitely didn't agree. All in all it was a very fun night. But I think Sarah had the most fun of all!
